PI Helps You Make Good Choices This National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month

Spring is upon us, so March is a fitting time to celebrate National Nutrition Month—a month focused on “the significance of physical fitness as well as eating nourishing meals.”

Sounds easy enough, right? Not necessarily.

Eating nourishing meals and prioritizing physical fitness are things that we all want to do, but many of us find them difficult to accomplish. In fact, countless people start off the new year with one or both as a resolution. But then we slowly (or maybe quickly) fall away and go back to our old habits. Eating nourishing meals can be really hard to do on a consistent basis. And quite frankly, it can get boring, especially if you don’t like to cook.

So what are the options?

First, we have to realize that while the month focuses on physical activity and eating well, this isn’t something we should do this month only. This should be the way we lead our daily lives.

Take a look at some sobering statistics about health in the US. Obesity is at an all-time high, with 20% of adults in each state living with obesity. Heart disease and diabetes affect millions of Americans. And never before in the history of human beings have humans spent so much time sitting in one place staring at a screen.

Clearly something has to be done to gain control of our health. That’s why we say that making changes are not just actions we have to take for a month but for a lifetime. If not, we risk diseases and early death.

Helping you better your life is one of the main goals of Performance Inspired. And that’s why we have created dozens of supplements, protein powders, vitamins, and snacks to help you achieve your goal of living your best life.

So let’s look at some of the ways you can make changes during National Nutrition Month and how PI’s products can help you stick with these changes all year long.

  1. Eat a variety of healthy foods.

Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains should be staples of your daily diet. But what happens when you know you need protein but you’re on the go, when you can’t make something, or when you don’t have the time to sit and eat? That’s when you turn to PI’s protein bars or whey protein powder. Our delicious bars come in peanut butter, chocolate, and birthday cake flavors, and they each have 20 grams of protein. That’s perfect for a midday snack or even a lunch replacement. Additionally, our whey protein comes in four different flavors (natural chocolate, vanilla bean, strawberries and cream, and blueberry) and contains 25 grams of protein, along with fiber and digestive enzymes. Both are excellent options when you cannot make a meal or need a quick lunch.

  1. Skip the meals out

If you want a healthy meal, cook it yourself. I know that’s probably not what you want to hear, but it’s true. Think about the amount of butter, salt, and other unhealthy ingredients that are typically used to make meals in restaurants. If you are willing to put in the effort, you can make healthier meals that taste just as good. If you must go out, choose a salad or steamed vegetables as a side and read the ingredients on the meals you order. Stay away from those laden with cheesy sauces or anything deep fried.

  1. Replace snacks with healthy alternatives

We know how easy it is to dig into a bag of chips or cookies as you work or watch your favorite TV show. But you would be surprised at how many calories and fat this adds up to. It’s likely more than what you’re supposed to eat in an entire day. So skip the unhealthy snacks and focus on foods with healthy ingredients, good fats, and vitamins and nutrients. PI has a delicious greens powder you can add to your water or favorite juice and that offers the nutrition you may be missing in your diet. As we describe on our site, our “Greens for Life is a beneficial greens powder with a mushroom blend and digestive enzymes. [It is] high in iron, low in carbs, low in calories, and contains organic ingredients such as spirulina, wheat grass, barley, spinach, kale, broccoli, and more.” Plus, “we added a blend of organic mushrooms for an additional boost to help support the immune system, protect against diseases, offer anti-inflammatory benefits, and reduce fatigue.” This is a great addition to your midday routine.

  1. Get moving!

If you’re like me, you tend to work for hours without stopping, and suddenly you’re wondering what happened to the better part of the day. Do yourself a favor and get your joints and muscles moving. Set a timer for every hour and make yourself get up and walk around, do some squats or lunges, take a quick walk, go up and down the stairs a few times, do some jumping jacks, or even try some planks. You don’t have to get sweaty, and most of these things can be done in any kind of work attire. The point is to keep yourself from sitting for hours without moving anything but your fingers as you type.

  1. Boost energy and support recovery

Are you looking for a way to increase your energy, get the protein you need, and help you recover from those difficult workouts? PI has you covered with our Diet & Energy Ripped Whey Protein. This formula contains 25 grams of protein and is made with a blend of guarana and green tea. It also contains 500mg of L-carnitine, 4g of leucine, and 150mg of choline bitartrate. As with all our products, it contains only natural flavors, sweeteners, and colors. This whey protein will keep you from crashing after your workout and is perfect as a between-meal snack, as a pre-workout drink, or even as a meal replacement.

This month, prioritize your health, and don’t be scared to make changes to your diet and health routine. Your body will thank you for treating it well!
