You’re finding out that your busy schedule allows you no time for the gym. Time is something we all want extra of and yet never seem to have enough of. Your biggest barrier when it comes to working out is time! Below are a few tips and tricks, to use your time more efficiently, so you don’t have to lose your physique due to a hectic schedule.
- Park Far Away
Instead of wasting time circling the parking lot for a closer space, park far away and use that time to walk. Finding the furthest parking spot at the grocery store will get the heart pumping, while you are carrying your groceries to the car.
- Play with your kids/friends.
If you have kids, play with them! This is a win/win not only for you but your child as well. Practicing throwing a football or soccer passes, is a great way to get your heart pumping. Even if you just play with your kids for ten minutes, this will elevate your energy and speed your metabolism.
- Stand Up
Simply standing up throughout the day can be more beneficial for your body than squeezing in a short workout and sitting the rest of the day
- Exercise during TV Time
You can easily exercise during commercial breaks and make it fun. For every restaurant commercial, you can do 10 sit ups or every car commercial you can do 15 jumping jacks. Have some fun with the family during commercials and even make it a competition. Have a treadmill? Put a TV in front of it, that way you could walk and watch your favorite show.
- Take the Stairs
Usually, when you’re at the mall or out and about, you tend to take the elevator or escalator instead of the stairs. Taking the stairs will only take an extra minute and carrying those bags up and down the stairs will help exercise your arms. Don’t worry they will get easier the more you take them.
- Set Your Alarm Early
This is probably the least favorite solution, however, it’s the most efficient. Setting your alarm early for an actual thirty-minute workout will give you results quicker. Can’t quite get yourself out of bed that early? Wear your workout clothes to bed and get your sweat on as soon as you wake up.
With these short yet unique tips and tricks at your fingertips, you no longer have an excuse not to work out! Remember, any type of workout is better than not working out at all, even if it’s only for five minutes. So, get up from your chair and put on your workout clothes and do a micro workout to get on the track to a healthier you!
