Protein Popsicles? Yes!

protein popsicle blog

Summer is here, and there is no better time for a cool snack than the hot summer months!

Remember when one of the best things as a kid was grabbing an ice cream treat from the freezer? Well, we want the adult you to enjoy that as well—and to get your protein at the same time.

Protein popsicles can be your go-to healthy snack this summer, and with the many different flavors of whey protein that we offer at Performance Inspired, you can make popsicles for any mood!

Below is a basic recipe for 10 popsicles. Find a mold that will hold that amount; silicon works best to keep the popsicles from sticking. Then simply blend the ingredients, freeze, and enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 medium banana

½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt (or if you are making a berry-flavored popsicle, try a fruit yogurt)

1 cup vanilla almond milk (or your favorite milk)

½ tsp. vanilla

A pinch of salt (if desired)

2 scoops protein powder*

*You can use Performance Inspired’s Isolate Whey, which comes in Chocolate Passion and Gourmet Vanilla flavors. You can use our Performance Whey Protein, which comes in Natural Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Strawberries and Cream, and Blueberry. Or you can use our Diet & Energy Ripped Whey Protein, which comes in Dark Chocolate, Mocha, and Vanilla Latte. All of these have 25 grams of protein per serving.

Optional ingredients:

¼ cup almond or peanut butter (this could be really good with a chocolate protein powder)

1 cup of fresh mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are great additions to popsicles)

Mix all ingredients (except fruit) in a blender until well blended. Then add in berries until they are the desired size. Some people like larger chunks, some smaller.

Add the mixture to the popsicle molds and freeze overnight. Take out and enjoy!
