Performance Inspired Nutrition, Wahlburgers announce new relationship with Meijer

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — 2018 brings big happenings for Performance Inspired Nutrition (PI) and Wahlburgers as they unveil a new business relationship with Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer Meijer.

In the coming year, nutrition leader PI will begin offering its all natural, high-performance sports nutrition and active lifestyle products at all Meijer locations, and the burger mecca “Wahlburgers” will begin developing new Wahlburgers restaurant locations on existing and future Meijer sites. The new relationship will kick off with appearances by Mark Wahlberg at two Detroit-area Meijer stores in Taylor and Royal Oak on Friday, Dec.  15 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.

Performance Inspired, co-founded and developed by actor, producer and businessman, Mark Wahlberg, and health and wellness retail industry veteran Tom Dowd, aims to bring their products to Meijer customers who are looking for natural, quality sports nutrition at a great value. Both companies share a dedication to helping their customers live healthier, more active lives.

“Today’s supermarket customers want quality, clean nutrition to support their active lifestyle and overall wellness, and they don’t want to make a separate stop to find meaningful sports nutrition products. Convenience wins in today’s retail world. Additionally, we speak to customers differently and we don’t mislead customers with bodybuilder marketing hype or paid endorsers. We use real customers,” said PI co-founder, Tom Dowd.

In addition to PI’s new relationship with the retailer, Wahlburgers will continue to expand its presence with the announcement of new restaurant sites to be located on out lots near various Meijer stores. The first Meijer/Wahlburgers developed sites will roll out in Michigan and Ohio. In addition, Wahlburgers will also be bringing their new food trucks to select Meijer locations. The Wahlburgers trucks will feature a selection of the most popular Wahlburgers’ menu items, including Mark’s favorite, the year-round Thanksgiving Day Sandwich.

Another point of synergy – all three companies have active philanthropic programs. “A portion of Performance Inspired’s net profits go to charity each year and we are looking forward to getting
