Celebrate Peanut Butter Lovers Month with PI’s Products

November is Peanut Butter Lovers Month—a month to celebrate all things peanut butter!

At Performance Inspired, we love peanut butter! That’s why we offer two protein-packed snacks to excite your taste buds and to add more protein into your diet.

But what makes peanut butter a healthy food? Harvard Health explains:

One serving (about 2 tablespoons) has 3.3 grams of saturated fat and 12.3 grams of unsaturated fat, or about 80% unsaturated fat. That puts it up there with olive oil in terms of the ratio of unsaturated to saturated fat. Peanut butter also gives you some fiber, some vitamins and minerals (including 200 milligrams of potassium), and other nutrients. Unsalted peanut butter, with 5 milligrams of sodium, has a terrific potassium-to-sodium ratio. Salted peanut butter still has about twice as much potassium as sodium. That profile compares quite favorably with bologna, roast beef, and many other sandwich fixings.

Harvard Health goes on to explain that “numerous studies have shown that people who regularly include nuts or peanut butter in their diets are less likely to develop heart disease or type 2 diabetes than those who rarely eat nuts.”

That’s great news! And it’s why we offer products with this incredible ingredient.

But not all peanut butters are of the same quality. To make sure you’re getting the healthiest version out there, start by reading the ingredient label. Healthline explains that the “healthiest peanut butters are free of added sugar and made with just one or two ingredients.” Look for a natural peanut butter with just peanuts or maybe some salt.

You may have to try a few varieties to find which suits your needs. After you determine the right number of ingredients, look for how it tastes, how it spreads on bread, and even how it smells. All of these things matter, whether you’re looking for the perfect dip for carrots or celery or for the perfect peanut butter for your PB&J sandwich.

To help you celebrate this month, we want to introduce you to two of our favorite snack products: our peanut butter protein cookie and our Inspired Bar 2.0. Both taste delicious and are made with healthy and clean ingredients because we care about what you put into your body.

Our 71-gram protein cookie contains 15g of isolate proteins and 7 grams of fiber. It will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth! And our Inspired Bar 2.0 also comes in peanut butter. Offering 20 grams of protein, this 70-gram bar is delicious. Both are perfect to take to work as a quick snack, to eat after the gym, or to keep in the car for a pick-me-up.
